If you’ve just finished an intense workout, give one of the following recipe ideas a try, you won’t regret it.

The Chocolate Proffee

If you’ve got a sweet tooth and often need a chocolate fix, try this Proffee recipe. Taste-wise, the mixture of chocolate protein, Amunra coffee and manuka honey makes for a sweet chocolate treat!  Coffee is rich in polyphenols as is cocoa powder. Combining the two mixed with protein and Manuka honey, which is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties, makes for an ideal recovery enhancing shake.

Ingredients

Method

Ideally, using an Aeropress (if you’ve got one), make a cold brew coffee using 18g of Amunra ground coffee.

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until thick and creamy. This should come out as more of a thick mousse consistency than a shake, so either grab a straw or a spoon and get stuck in.

The Banana and Vanilla Proffee

The subtle taste of banana and vanilla allow the flavours from the coffee to come through in this simple recipe. As well as the recovery benefits of the protein and polyphenols, bananas are rich in potassium and vitamin B6, which need replacing post workout.

Ingredients

  • French Pressed Amunra Coffee – 18g Coffee + 250ml Water
  • Cubed or Crushed Ice – 150g
  • Vanilla Protein – 40g
  • Chia Seeds – 15g
  • Zero Cal Syrup – 12g
  • Banana – 1

Method

Brew up a cup of Amunra using a French Press and add it into a blender along with the other ingredients.

The ice will cool the coffee down, but just be mindful of the warm liquid before blending.

The consistency of this proffee won’t be as thick as the Chocolate Proffee, but the flavour is just as good!

The Peanut Butter Proffee

Who doesn’t love adding Peanut Butter into a protein shake? Peanut butter compliments the subtle hazelnut and dark chocolate taste in Amunra coffee whilst providing a good mix of protein, fats and some b vitamins to add to the recovery enhancing polyphenols in Amunra.

Ingredients

  • Milk – 250ml
  • Crushed Ice – 150g
  • Peanut Butter Cup Protein – 40g
  • Peanut Butter – 25g
  • Amunra Pure Performance Ground Coffee – 18g
  • Chia Seeds – 15g
  • Manuka Honey or Sugar Free Syrup – 10-12g

Method

Similar to the chocolate proffee, use an Aeropress (if you’ve got one) and make a cold brew coffee using 18g of ground Amunra coffee. Chuck all the ingredients into a blender and blend until you’re happy with the consistency.

If you prefer your shakes to be drinkable rather than like a dessert then use the french press method.
